I painted this scene en plein air from across the street. Los Rios is an historic district in San Juan Capistrano, by the train station and across from the Mission San Juan Capistrano, built in the 1770's. The green house is actually a restaurant where you can sit on the porch and have tea - how pleasant! Commissions accepted. An artist since childhood, I have been fascinated by color, faces and natural forms. Taking every class in art I could find, I enjoyed oil painting in particular, and portraiture became my passion. Painting from life, or photographs if necessary, I love to bring out the personality of a someone "from heart to art." Painting outdoors in nature is exhilarating, a real joy and renewal of the soul.
